Effectively Training MLM Distributors

When it comes to the training of your MLM distributors for success there are critical elements that need to continually addressed. When you consider that the greatest leverage in your network marketing business comes from the productivity of your downline distributors, it is imperative that your training process be thorough. When people are ill equipped with the skills and abilities they need for their business, they will quickly become frustrated and give up. Effective training is one of the greatest defenses against attrition amongst in your MLM downline.

Motivation is the heart beat of your training process. The best trained distributor in the world will be unproductive and worthless if they lack motivation. Your motivational efforts should concentrate on two key elements. The first element is the goals and dreams of your people. They need to be constantly reminded of what brought them into this business in the first place. It is important that they remain connected to the goal and not lose sight of their own finish line. The second key element is the encouragement to continue even when things are moving slowly or even becoming difficult. One of the greatest tools at your disposal is your own story. Talk about the circumstances you faced in your business that were difficult and how you found the inner motivation to keep pressing on. Brainstorm ways that your distributors can go over, go around or go through the obstacles that are in their path.

Marketing is the next concept that needs to be taught and reinforced on a regular basis. Teach your team members how to promote themselves as business owners, leaders and solutions providers. Teach them how to identify the markets that are most receptive to the product, service or business opportunity that they are representing. Help them brainstorm ideas that could be used to engage that target market segment. Work with your downline to develop a marketing plan. This plan should clearly define the course of action and the time frame in which those actions will be accomplished. You should ask your distributor to commit to their marketing plan and then follow up with regular accountability. Implement a system of tracking to monitor the effectiveness of your distributor's marketing efforts. Your downline distributors will be glad that you pushed them as they begin to enjoy the success of their network marketing business.

The next component of your MLM distributor training should be in the areas of product and business opportunity. Help your people to become experts in the products and business opportunity they represent. Have your distributors talk to each other about their experiences with the products. You may even want to assign a particular product to a distributor to use and discuss with your team during your next team meeting. Sales skills are a vital part of your ongoing training. Teach your people how to deal with questions and objections that they are encountering in the field. You may want to role play with your team, dissecting each part of the presentation and closing process. By helping your people increase their skills in this one area, you can help them dramatically increase their income by simply increasing their rate of conversions.

Whether you are training through live events or using technological tools such as webinars and video, it is important that you remain focused on these fundamental aspects of business building. By helping your MLM distributors to succeed, you will not only be building your own business, but you will be helping others to do the same.
